Knitwear from Lockie: Special raw materials & lots of quality

The use of high quality raw materials and the precisely executed manufacturing processes ensure a unique result. Nowhere else in the world are knitwear products produced like here.
One of the most used materials is the cashmere wool of the goat.

More luxury, warmth and softness is hardly possible. The fluffy fleece, or undercoat, protects the mountain goats from winter temperatures down to -40 degrees. And this is, after all, what we call cashmere, or rather what we understand by it. Nomadic tribesmen lovingly care for the goats and brush their fur. This is also part of the Lockies' tradition.

Modern clothing made from high quality natural fibres

William Lockie specializes in the production of fine garments made of natural fibres. You will find merino wool, geelong, camelhair or lambswool. During production, we concentrate on using only the finest quality wool from the best sheep. They are reared in South Australia, where the climate is mild and favours the production of wool.

Geelong is suitable for lighter woollen garments. Geelong consists entirely of fine microfibres, which come from the first cut of Australian lambs. They are even specially bred for this type of wool.

Merino wool on the other hand is very light and extremely soft. The natural fibres come from Australian sheep. Italian spinners, such as Loro Piana, spin and process them further. The special thing about merino wool is that it adapts to the body temperature individually.

In winter it keeps the body warm, in summer the fibres cool the skin. Merino fibres also absorb a great deal of moisture, so that wearers do not break out in a sweat when they wear a garment made of merino wool.

Camel hair is also very breathable. William Lockie does not use any chemicals in the processing, so the hair remains 100% natural. The hair is also not dyed. The fibres themselves are very soft and, of course, also warm, as they come from specially bred camels.

The processing of cashmere or other natural fibres is by no means new. For centuries, high-quality wool has been processed in the same way, mostly in elaborate manual work.

This is also what makes the production of these garments so special. But here too, the label always manages to keep up with the times, because the sweaters, cardigans, trousers and accessories are anything but outdated. So the designers use fashionable cuts, trendy colours and hip patterns to create fashionable unique pieces:

  • Fashionably cut herringbone poncho in grey with turtleneck and ¾ sleeves. Perfect to wear with leather pants in black.
  • Beautiful turtleneck sweaters with thick knit in sunny yellow, pink or light grey. Ideal for the cold winter months.
  • Men's sweater with sophisticated button collar in coarse knit look in sand, grey, red or blue. In a thinner version the sweaters can also be worn under a jacket.
  • Light oversize sweaters in grey or white with long sleeves, together with jeans the perfect everyday look.

William Lockie Cashmere Sweater

Handmade quality for ladies & gentlemen

William Lockie specialises in natural fibres, creating unique garments that can be combined and worn individually over and over again.

So the light grey turtleneck sweater goes with casual jeans just as well as it can be worn over a skirt for office work. The high quality is visible at first glance, as are the traditional techniques for processing, as they have been passed down for generations.

The label now works with selected designers and also offers a large storage service.
